Foamie Flex – Antenna Savers (Pack of 4)

Colour: Black

Keep your RF antennas safe, discreet and performing at their best with URSA Foamie Flex.

The soft, lightweight and flexible foam is designed for wireless bodypack transmitters to improve RF consistency, add comfort under wardrobe, and reduce the effect of sweat on range.

By creating a small gap between the antenna and the body, Foamie Flex helps prevent the detuning and signal loss that often happen when an antenna is pressed against skin or damp clothing. Sweat can reduce RF range, and the Foamie Flex acts as a barrier and spacer to keep antennas working more reliably in demanding conditions.

At 13 cm long with a 9 mm outer width and a 4 mm internal channel, the Foamie Flex slides easily over whip antennas of all types. The foam can be cut to size for shorter antennas and remains low profile for on-body use, making it suitable for film, TV, theatre and live performance.

Key features:

  • Improves RF performance by spacing the antenna away from the body

  • Reduces sweat-related range loss with a protective foam barrier

  • Soft, light & flexible – comfortable for talent and crew

  • Low profile design – hides easily under costumes

  • Customisable length – cut to size for shorter antennas

  • Fits all kinds of antennas – simple slide-on application

Each pack contains 4 × URSA Foamie Flex.

An URSA Belt Pouch and Zaxcom ZMT Transmitter in a marine helmet works like a charm. Thanks again URSA for these amazing products!

Recently, instead of using waist straps, I’ve started to rig transmitters by safety pinning them on the inside of waist straps, or sometimes on petticoats for women (I seem to do a lot of period stuff!) URSA Belt Pouches are brilliant for this, there really isn’t anything else out there for the job. When I’ve been asking actors what they prefer, a lot like this method because it’s the least intrusive, and for me it’s even easier to get to the transmitter for a battery change than a waist belt.
