Undies are made from ultra-light Jersey fabric and designed to be as comfortable as wearing regular underwear. They are designed to be a tight fit in order to hold the transmitter in place but not a compression garment like URSA Shorties.

Around the Waist we have an ‘Infinity Loop’ pouch which allows sideways rigging at any point around the loop. On the Thighs there is also a loop for sideways rigging along with an inner leg Popper Pouch for vertical rigging.

URSA Undies are lightweight, unisex garments with multiple transmitter pouches for discreet rigging under costumes. Made from soft, stretchy Lycra with an Infinity Loop Waistband and various placement options. Available in Black and Beige, sizes S-L.

FAQs

A Sennheiser G4 is too large to use with Undies, the pouches are not designed for a transmitter of their thickness and width.

A Sounds Devices A20 pack is a little slimmer and can be used on the inner leg pouch or the leg loop, however it will be a tight fit into these pouches. The waist loop has a small access so it will be difficult to get larger units inside this 360 loop. We generally wanted to avoid larger heavier packs being used on this garment as it does not have the stretch tension of our Shorties to hold these large units firmly in place. We would recommend you use the Shorties if you require a larger pack.

Yes Undies can be washed at 40 degrees but do not tumble dry on anything other than a low/medium heat. They will shrink on a very high heat drying cycle.

If treated well Undies should last a long time, at least 120 shooting days. We still consider them consumables as these items will require a lot of washing and may over time show signs of wear in areas where the pack is hidden most frequently.

Yes they can be worn back to front. Undies do not have a front and back but the label does indicate where we designed for the back to be.

Yes, Undies are a great solution for discretely wiring up children. They can be much more comfortable for young cast to wear compared to straps which may ride up the waist causing the transmitter aerial and mic plug to rub against skin.

Undies have a lot of stretch and it is best for them to have a tight fit in order to keep the transmitter in place. Our Large size is in fact very large so we recommend this for people with 34inch waist lines and over. Generally we would recommend Small size for women and Medium size for men.

Yes, we plan on releasing a mid tone Caramel colour for Undies. This should be available by mid 2025.

Looking For Alternative Rigging?

On one show I tried them out on, our female lead was often wearing Spanx undergarments when dressed in short skirts and dresses. I showed the Undies to our costume team, and they were very excited to see all of the different transmitter pocket options for those times we have difficult costumes. After wearing the Ursa Undies with a transmitter in the side thigh pouch, she said she completely forgot that she was wearing a transmitter at all and that the Undies were very comfortable. I also feel confident that I could hand off a lav mic, transmitter, and a pair of the Ursa Undies to the costume team to wire talent for those times that an actor would prefer a costumer to help them get wired
